About Me

Are you stuck in cycles of self-blame? You live in a world where you anxiously take responsibility, and assume you are defective?

My name's Simon, and I offer a relational approach to therapy - through radical acceptance and deep empathy I support people to access their own inner resources and discover a release from the judgements that are so easily absorbed from our culture, families, and interactions. The Person Centred Approach to counselling is collaborative - deliberately avoiding being directive, so that you can find answers that work for you, build trust within your own process, and find reflectiveness and tolerance to distress.

I specialise in autism, bereavement, addiction, & geek culture & have been a qualified counsellor for over five years in a variety of settings, and worked in homelessness for over a decade in Oxford. I work with a people who have hit rock-bottom to process their losses and discover change from within.

Research shows that much of the success from therapy comes from the relationship between counsellor & client, and your hope that change is possible. For this reason, I offer a free half hour intro call, for you to get a sense of whether I'm the right counsellor for you before we proceed.

Thank you for checking out my profile - hope is already on the horizon with you looking for support. Please note that I offer concessions for online work only for clients who are training in counselling or experiencing financial hardship - please flag if this applies to you when we meet. Unfortunately, due to the cost of room hire & travel, I am unable to offer concessions to face to face or home visits.
