How does Aligned match people with therapists?

The client has a matching conversation of about 10 to 15 minutes with Ally, Aligned's AI matching agent, or asks for a callback from a matching specialist. A person on the matching team then chooses a therapist, usually within 24 hours. The client sees one therapist profile at a time, and rematching is free and unlimited.

If the client wants to go ahead, Aligned introduces them to the therapist by email. The therapist usually gets in touch within 24 hours, and first sessions usually happen within two to three weeks. After the introduction, the therapy is between the client and the therapist.

How much does therapy cost through Aligned?

Matching is free for clients. Clients pay their therapist directly, at the therapist's own rate. Individual sessions usually cost £60 to £80, and couples sessions £80 to £100. Some therapists offer lower rates. Aligned is paid by therapists, not clients, and therapists keep the vast majority of their session fees.

How are therapists checked?

Every therapist is qualified and registered with a recognised UK professional body: BACP, UKCP, BABCP, NCPS, NCS or BPC. Aligned does not work with trainees. Each therapist has trained to at least Level 4 Diploma, and many to Level 7. The team speaks with every therapist by phone before any match.

Aligned is run by Aligned Therapy Ltd, company number 16829944, incorporated on 4 November 2025.
